Why this site is called Month-Off.com
I named Month-Off.com after my favorite part of refinancing my own mortgages - getting to take a month off from the payments! The first time I refinanced my own mortgage, I was suprised to find out that not only was I getting a lower payment, I was also not making a payment for a month!
You see, when you go to closing on your loan, the lender will collect some of the interest on the mortgage ahead of time. This makes it so you don't have to make a mortgage payment at the beginning of the next month!
Years later when I became a loan officer, I remembered how good if felt to get that break from the payment. Recognizing that others would enjoy it as well, I worked with lenders and came up with a method so that when you refinance or obtain a purchase loan with Month-Off.com, not only will you get the best available rates - you can also get a loan that allows you to skip 1 or even 2 months of mortgage payments!
